4bags black teaor 4 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea
In a large pitcher, refrigerate 8 cups of cold water
To Make Peach Tea Simple Syrup
In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat bring sugar, water to a boil. Once sugar is dissolved add in peaches and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add in tea bags and mint. Cover saucepan and let steep for 25 minutes
Remove tea bags and use potatoe masher or back of a wooden spoon to help break down the peaches to incorporate their flavor.
Place mesh strainer on top of large bowl. Pour the contents of the saucepan in the strainer (letting the bowl collect the peach tea simple syrup). Use the back of the wooden spoon to firmly press the peaches to extract all the peach flavor.
To Assemble Peach Sweet Tea
Pour the peach tea simpler syrup into the remaining cold water and stir.
You can refrigerate further until it reaches your desired temperature or serve and add 3-4 frozen peach slices to a glass. Pour in chilled tea, garnish with mint sprig and enjoy.
