Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, kosher salt, black pepper, and water until well combined and smooth.
  • Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and gently stir, once you start to see the eggs turn opaque, begin pushing the cooked edges towards the center once or twice every 10 seconds..
  • When the eggs start to set and moisture reduces, turn the heat to low and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Fold the omelet in half and carefully transfer it onto a plate by tilting the skillet so that the omelet slides onto the plate.
  • Serve the cheddar omelet hot, garnished with an extra sprinkle of cheese.
